scientific context / project summary:
The structural evolution of smart grids is characterized by decentralization and an increasing digitalization of the infrastructure for control, piloting and management. This transformation concerns in particular the integration of renewable energies and storage, the development of electric mobility and therefore smart charging. The research work focuses on microgrids and aims to develop knowledge and know-how to provide sustainable, sustainable, accessible and user-centered electrical energy, as well as efficient solutions for buildings and electromobility. The intelligent control is based on the interaction between discrete and continuous control algorithms for a search for optimal solutions for the energy management of the microgrid. The main energy sources that are taken into study (characterization, modeling, control, experimental, etc.) are: photovoltaic, electrochemical and electrostatic storage, wind turbine and public network. Due to the intermittency of production and consumption, the scientific and methodological lock taken into account is how to manage the energy of a microgrid to deal with uncertainties, system variability while maximizing the production of renewable energy and satisfying demand. This operational management of intermittency results in the optimization of power flows in real time and the control of uncertainties. This involves taking into account a significant flow of data, potentially incomplete, and uncertainties of system evolution over time. The concrete applications targeted are positive energy buildings, infrastructure for recharging EVs, and the combination of the two applications on the scale of a campus or a district. Two technological platforms enable the validation of the concepts and control algorithms developed by the laboratory: PLER - experimental platform for the production of renewable electricity centered on a micro-network integrated into the building, and STELLA - EV charging infrastructure.
