Researcher in hybrid predictive modeling of biological tissue deformation toward real-time simulation

  • On-site
    • Compiègne, Hauts-de-France, France
  • Bio-engineering - BMBI

UTC is recruiting a contract researcher to join the Biomechanics and Bioengineering Laboratory (BMBI), Biological Engineering Department (GB), as part of the SCAR_FACE research project.

Job description

The University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC) is recruiting a contract researcher to join the Biomechanics and Bioengineering Laboratory (BMBI), Biological Engineering Department (GB), as part of the SCAR_FACE research project.

For this project, the successful candidate will contribute to innovative research at the interface of biomechanics, digital technology and hybrid modelling.

MISSION

You will actively contribute to the development and evaluation of new hybrid computational method to predict biological tissue deformation with subject-specific material properties.

ACTIVITIES

  • Medical image processing and 3D model reconstruction

  • Computational model development using mechanical properties of biological tissues (from the laboratory’s work)

  • Scientific result dissemination in conferences, journal publications or patents/software licenses.

Context

Within the BMBI laboratory, research has been conducted for many years on the digital simulation of facial expressions in collaboration with the CHIMERE clinical team at the UPJV in Amiens. In this context, a digital twin of the face has been developed to visualise facial movements in real time. As part of the current SCAR_FACE (Simulation and Personalised Mechanical Characterisation of the FACE) preterm birth project, we will be integrating our knowledge and expertise on the mechanical properties of biological facial tissues. This recruitment is funded as part of the implementation of a Prematuration Programme by the Alliance Sorbonne Université University Innovation Cluster (PUI-ASU).
