Our Languages Section, which proposes eight languages to UTC students, at levels ranging from A1 to C2 in the European Common Reference Framework, is recruiting an English teacher. We are a team of approximately fifty teachers, both permanent and freelance, and we enrol and teach roughly 2,000 students each semester in our language classes. The person hired will mainly teach students enrolled in our engineering courses, but might also teach master’s degrees and PhD courses.
The teacher we hire will be responsible for running several course modules, with the associated pedagogical and administrative tasks, and for adapting existing content. He or she will be required to teach thematic courses focusing on scientific and/or professional English. More generally, the person hired will teach course modules focusing on language (A2 to C2).
Department
The TSH department is concerned with the context in which today’s engineers operate. The technological and socioeconomic spheres form an indivisible whole, and the work of engineers necessarily has an ethical and political dimension. TSH seeks to develop and communicate (1) techniques and research paradigms that shed light on this connectedness - TSH is an interdisciplinary department that brings together expertise in a variety of domains including cognitive science, information and communication science, economics, management, philosophy, and sociology; and (2) procedures and tools for engineers navigating this interconnected reality (for example, relating to the management of innovative projects, and the design of interactive interfaces).

Job requirements
• Minimum qualification level: Master’s degree
• Applicants should be bilingual (French/English)
• Experience of teaching scientific and/or professional English essential
• Experience of administrative responsibilities essential
• Two years of teaching experience in higher education required. Experience with scientific students or student engineers will be particularly appreciated.
• Applicants should be familiar with word-processing and spreadsheet software, and have experience of working with online teaching platforms such as Moodle.
• We are looking for a dynamic teacher with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to teamwork, as well as excellent organisational skills.
