Job description
We are looking for an industrial engineer to work on the Quatrium future industry acceleration platform project within the Mechanical Engineering department and the Roberval laboratory.
You will be responsible for :
Defining demonstration scenarios for the integration of 4.0 technologies and implementing these scenarios during Quatrium project events, either face-to-face on the platform, remotely via video-conferencing tools, or off-site at manufacturers' sites.
Ensure the installation and implementation of new equipment for the ‘Agile Manufacturing System’ technology platform: conveyor system, cobot, AGV, etc.
Your activities in detail:
Participate in the definition of demonstration scenarios for the integration of 4.0 technologies.
Participate in the installation of new industrial equipment on the ‘Agile Manufacturing System’ technology platform: conveyor system, cobot, AGV, etc.
Ensure the implementation of this equipment through scenarios.
Take part in setting up a corporate information system for managing and steering the platform (in particular by installing an MES).
Presenting these scenarios at Quatrium project events, either face-to-face on the platform, remotely via videoconferencing tools, or off-site at the manufacturers' sites.
Participating in technology monitoring and in the development of the platform to meet the needs of manufacturers.
Anticipating changes and their impact on the business and proposing application upgrades (functional or technical).
Resolving or reporting incidents and optimising platform performance.
Working environment and context
You will be joining the Mechanical Engineering (ME) department and taking part in the Quatrium project. The aim of the project is to enable SMEs in the Hauts-de-France region to grasp the challenges of Industry 4.0 and the associated new technologies as quickly as possible, from the discovery stage through to the industrialisation of solutions in their factories. To do this, companies will be invited to take part in events and demonstrations on UTC platforms.
As part of your activities, you will work in close collaboration with the members of the ‘Integrated Systems: Product-Process’ team in the Roberval laboratory, the people dedicated to the Quatrium project and all of the UTC's support services.
You will be in regular contact with the project partners and, more generally, with the various players involved in the project. You will be able to adapt well to the different people you deal with, and you will be able to communicate professionally both orally and in writing.
As part of the project, you will be required to travel to meetings and events in the Hauts de France region.
Type of contract and expected date of recruitment
Fixed-term contract – immediate filling and until 31/03/2027 at the latest

Diploma, training and accreditation
Diploma: 5 years' higher education, engineering degree or equivalent
Field of training: industrial, mechanical or IT engineering.
